Wei Braunberger

We are

For more than 15 years, Wei worked in the financial industry as a corporate banker and later as a reinsurance director, focusing on financing, risk steering, strategy, innovation and leadership.

At the peak of her career, a profound personal turning point led her to explore human resilience through embodied experience. Starting from zero, Wei immersed herself in movement across mountains, water, air, and land — spanning precision and extreme sports, as well as dance-based physical and cognitive intelligence.

Wei stands in the 16th-generation lineage of the Daoist Sanfeng Taiji tradition and holds a Taiji Coach certification from Beijing Sport University. Trained in Daoist philosophy, Qigong, and Taiji, and influenced by traditions of Chinese medicine (TCM), her work explores how traditional movement knowledge can open new perspectives on human wellbeing in dialogue with modern science.

She also originated the development of the Extended Taiji Integrative Model (ETIM) — an emerging framework connecting traditional wisdom, movement science, neuroscience, and psychology in the context of preventive wellbeing. This work forms the intellectual and practical foundation of Flowverse, an embodied systems innovation initiative.

Bingjie Cheng

We build

Dr. Bingjie Cheng is a psychologist and neuroscientist, holding a PhD from the University of Zurich, and a Taiji practitioner. Her work brings together scientific research and personal mind–body practice. Beyond Taiji, she practices ballet, plays musical instruments, and engages in outdoor sports in nature—an integration of disciplines that shapes her holistic perspective on the connection between body and mind.

Her scientific interest centers on how conscious breathing and mindful, gentle movement can support the regulation of body and mind in modern life. In particular, she explores how such practices can enhance performance, creativity, emotional regulation, and social connection.

A further focus of her work lies in bringing mind–body practices into the digital space. She investigates how digital technologies can support people in practicing these methods in context-sensitive ways and integrating them sustainably into everyday life. The goal of her work is to develop approaches that are both scientifically grounded and practical—strengthening self-regulation, inner balance, and overall well-being.

Jelena Duza

We move

Jelena is a public affairs and health policy professional driven by a strong interest in how policy decisions shape people’s lives, particularly when it comes to science and health innovation. Over the past decade, she has worked at the intersection of policy, business and science across government and the pharmaceutical industry.

Jelena is drawn to environments that require bringing people together across different perspectives and is particularly passionate about building communities and connecting people with purpose. She leads our stakeholder engagement and collaborations, as well as all our communications.

We do

Yilu is a software engineer and computational scientist interested in how technology can support a deeper connection to the body, emotions, and everyday human experience. She graduated from ETH Zurich’s Master’s program in Computational Science and Engineering and now works as a software developer on a large-scale weather and climate platform developed with MeteoSwiss, ETH Zurich, and CSCS - Swiss National Supercomputing Centre.

Alongside her technical work, Yilu’s experience in high-pressure digital environments, together with practices like ballet and tennis, has made her more aware of the importance of movement, balance, and embodied awareness in daily life.

At Flowverse, Yilu combines computation, AI, and creative thinking to build frameworks that connect data with human experience. She is especially interested in making practices like Taiji more accessible to a wider audience, not only through technology but also through visual and artistic expression. Her goal is to create tools and experiences that help people reconnect with themselves and live with more awareness, balance, and presence in an increasingly digital world.

western medicine meets eastern tradition

We present

As a doctor specializing in spinal orthopaedics, Jana knows how important movement is — and at the same time, how difficult it can be to fit into a busy everyday life. Between clinical work, research, and the countless demands that come with a challenging profession, exercise remains her non-negotiable anchor. Whether skiing, cycling, or surfing, movement is Jana’s way of switching off, resetting, and recharging.

What drives Jana is the belief that we are still only beginning to understand all the ways we can actively shape our health. Taiji may be one of them — and that is exactly what she wants to explore together with us. For Jana, Taiji is completely new territory. And that is precisely why she is curious. With the analytical mindset of a scientist and the openness of a beginner, Jana wants to find out what this practice can really do: Can it help her slow down more quickly in the middle of a stressful daily routine? Can it improve her balance, coordination, or even her athletic performance?

These are the questions Jana is driven to explore — at the intersection of medicine, movement, and human potential.
